LO4: Evidence Of Editing

DPS - Main photo draft 1.

I have improved the highlights in the adjustment tab in Photoshop. This allows the blacks in the photos to become more black and darker, this connoting to the reader as the audience has a fondness to black that being their stereotypical favourite colour. How I did this was adjust the Curve of the photo, I switched to the darker RGB setting making the band members standout, this contrasting to brightness of the top half of the photo, I believe the blacks in the photo make the photo stand out to the target reader, The blacks connoting the emotional genre which the reader will be linked with as the rock genre is linked to emotional music, thus connoting the black colour.
DPS - Main photo draft 2

I have used the curve tool in the adjustment tab in photoshop. this is making the background darker and the people lighter. This will help in connoting the bands expressions. This expressions being anger and loud vocals. This connoting the genre and being aesthetically pleasing to the client SPH publishing as they are wanting a clear genre music magazine. The demographic that this style of photo now edited to be clear through these tools is the young people aged around 15-24 that love the aggression in music.

Contents page images

I blurred the background to show off the person, this highlights the artist putting all attention onto her. I used the blur tool to highlight my model and make her the centre of the photo. I did this by selecting the model using the marquee tool in photoshop and slowly and carefully using the blur tool like a paint brush, adjusting the size and hardness to go around my model with no sharp edges.
darker setting. becomes more black enhancing the colour of the orange clothing. making the clothing more visible. this can direct itself to the demographic as many wear this type of clothing. SPH publishing will approve of this as the clothing clearly connotes the demographic that is targeted. The demographic that like this genre of music.
blurred background used on a iPhone x portrait mode. I used the blur tool to separate the artist form the background. highlighting him. I later enhanced this in photoshop by adjusting the levels this making the clothing and model more visible. This making it link with SPH publishing and the demographic requirements as it makes the clothing more visible. This clothing being a more urban style this appealing to the teenage audience.
i need photos for the rest of my contents page to make my others pages visible. these photos are all taken by myself and have all been edited. I have used the adjustment tool for all these photos, this making it so i control every setting in my photo. I have increased the brightness in these photos to make them more visible. this being done by adjusting the curves and the highlights. by increasing the midtones.

Graphic editing

I have changed the font of the quote to the sans serif font impact. This gives this week a more punchier look as it is bolder with no flick, I believe this works well with the yellow as the yellow can connote danger, which a big strong font can link to. I believe this font can also link to the genre of music as the genre of music can also be aggressive.

Editors

I used the text tool to create this font for my editors article headline. I used the colour yellow instead off what was red, was the fact that with the red my contents page looked overall too red, so I chose yellow as it stood out from the colours on the contents page. I created a black outline within the text tool making the font more solid.

Front Cover
This graphic is the bottom sell line of my front cover promoting the local names that are in this magazine. I used a red and white pattern on my text. All the impact font text was in this pattern. This done by using the fill tool on my text on Photoshop.

For my masthead I edited the size of the square by changing it into a rectangle. I also increased the size of the font. I believe this makes it stand out more and looks better. This showing a clear housestyle of the magazine as all housestyle colours are in this masthead. This masthead representing the brand of my magazine. Also SPH publishing.

This graphic I edited was the promotion of a feature that is in the magazine. I used the text tool to add text to my white boxes with a black stroke. I changed the colour of the band to highlight the bands name. Also I put the band in all capitals to highlight them.
